Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Morogoro – Uluguru Mountains Hike

Your journey begins early in the morning with a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, a town nestled at the base of the beautiful Uluguru Mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy lunch before embarking on a guided day hike into the lush Uluguru Range. Known for its waterfalls, green hills, and panoramic views, this hike offers both adventure and a refreshing connection with nature.

After the hike, you’ll check in at Sunset Lodge in Morogoro, a peaceful lodge with great views and a swimming pool. Dinner will be served at the lodge, and you’ll have time to relax and unwind after a day of travel and trekking.

Day 2: Full Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania’s most accessible and wildlife-rich parks. You’ll spend the full day on game drives across the park’s open plains, which resemble the Serengeti and are teeming with wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, impalas, hippos, and various bird species.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, allowing you to relax in the wild and take in the stunning views. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to Camp Bastian Mikumi for your overnight stay. This charming lodge features a swimming pool, a cozy bonfire area, and excellent hospitality. Enjoy a hearty dinner and relax under the stars.

Day 3: Maasai Cultural Experience – Return to Dar es Salaam

On your final day, after breakfast, you’ll visit a nearby Maasai village for an immersive cultural experience. Learn about Maasai traditions, way of life, and participate in their vibrant dances and rituals. This visit provides a deeper understanding of one of Tanzania’s most iconic tribes.

Afterward, you’ll enjoy a short morning game drive as you exit Mikumi National Park, giving you one last chance to spot wildlife. After a relaxing lunch, you’ll begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the early evening with unforgettable memories of your southern Tanzania safari.
